Foundation Board Hotels For Donors History Contact

Dear Sirs/Madams,

Keeping in proper condition historic buildings requires huge financial expenses. Small repairs are made from the Foundation's own funds but after 50 years of use the premises require general repairs.

The most pressing issue is the renovation of the palace and outbuildings in Obory. In 2008, with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, we carried out repairs on the palace roof.

Also, thanks to the support of the above mentioned Ministry in the years 2006 – 2009, the House of Creative Work "Astoria" in Zakopane was modernized.

Thanks to the donors, one of the most beautiful buildings in Warsaw has been restored (being now the home to Polish writers), with a history dating back to the first half of the seventeenth century, completely destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising and reconstructed in the years 1948 – 1949.

Unfortunately, due to the Vistula embankment subsidence, erosion, groundwater and the use of route under the hill – the building structure is at risk.

The literary environment, without the support of sponsors, is not able to bear the costs of necessary repairs.

Institutions or private persons that want to be patrons of writers will be entitled to the following:

  • advertising in the folder of the Foundation or the House of Creative Work in Obory;
  • the possibility to dispose of the hotel apartment in the historic building in Warsaw at 87/89 Krakowskie Przedmiescie St.;
  • the use of rooms in the seventeenth-century palace in Obory or "Astoria" villa in Zakopane;
  • the possibility to organize conferences and banquets in Obory or in the Literature
  • House in Warsaw;
  • the title of a sponsor of the Foundation;
